I am looking to open a nano brewery, how long does it take to build a system?
Typically a brew house takes around two months from the order date to complete. Depending on the complexity of your build however it may take more or less time.
What is the most common size for a new brewery?
Most new breweries start off with anywhere from a 1BBL to a 10BBL brew house. It really depends on your space and budget. Most new breweries grow out of their start-up system in 6 months to a year however so our recommendation is to always start with as big of a system as you can. You can always brew smaller batches if needed.
How much does a brew house cost?
The sky is the limit when it comes to brew houses, however for a commercial setup that is automated, a 1bbl turn key system is about $6500.00 and a 10 bbl system will run upwards of $20,000. * prices are for illustrative purposes only, contact us for a quote
What questions should I ask before ordering?
Custom Built Brewing recommends consulting with the city and any other permitting agency prior to ordering. You should know exactly what the city is going to require from you. This is particularly important if you are the first brewery in the city. You should ask the following questions AT A MINIMUM! We recommend going over your brewhouse plans with the city to avoid any permitting issues.
* Will you require a UL listing for my control panel
* Can I have a direct fire burner system
* What kind of hood/venting system will I need
Are Brewhouses UL listed?
Direct fire brewhouses are NOT UL listed. There are currently no direct fire/jet burners that have a UL listing. If your city requires a UL listing on your brewhouse, heat source or panel, please contact for more information.
